OUR HISTORY

The seeds to start a Christian school in Radcliff were first sown in 1984 by Paige "Preacher" and Debbie Hardin, committed to providing a Christ-centered education with strong academics for their children. A small school building was constructed and in the fall of 1986 Fellowship Christian Academy (now North Hardin Christian School) opened its doors to 25 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

A grade level was added each year until the first graduate received her diploma in 1992. To accommodate a growing student body a new school building was constructed in 2000 and the school has continued to expand and experience steady growth over the years.

In April of 2002, NHC was awarded accreditation status from the American Association of Christian Schools. On July 22, 2003, NHC was certified by the Kentucky Department of Education for meeting the standards established by the KY Non-Public Schools Commission. On July 15, 2004, NHC was awarded accreditation from the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools, Kentucky Division. On June 30, 2014, NHCS was awarded the highest accreditation available from Cognia - AdvancEd/SACS CASI (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement).

In January 2024, NHC announced an important leadership transition set to take effect with the 2024–2025 school year. Preacher and Mrs. Debbie transitioned from their roles as Head Administrators to serve on the school’s Board of Directors, where they focus on strategic planning, vision casting, and ensuring the long-term health and sustainability of the institution. Their wisdom, experience, and steadfast dedication continue to guide NHC from an executive board capacity. At the same time, Mr. Josh Elmore was named the new Head of School, assuming responsibility for all aspects of day-to-day operations, including academics, student life, faculty leadership, and school culture. His passion for classical Christian education and proven leadership have positioned him to lead NHC confidently into this next chapter.

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

Over the past nearly 40 years, we have been grateful witnesses to God's faithfulness over and over again.
